Our Knights of Columbus Council 1412 from Blessed Sacrament, Chatham were honoured today to deliver the final proceeds of our Signature Semi-Annual “SPRING-EDITION MEGASIZED FOOD DRIVE & FUNDRAISER OUTREACH” to The Salvation Army Chatham Kent Food Bank at 46 Orangewood Blvd., Chatham. 320 Banana Boxes of grocery items that were high priority needs of the Food Bank were collected at both FOOD BASICS and Real Canadian Superstore from April 23-25, 2026. This was nearly 20,000 lbs of newly purchased groceries. Cash deposited in the familiar RED KETTLES , gift cards, cheques, and Interact transactions added onto a whopping, $4,365.00 in donations for the Food Bank. It’s is our Knight’s tradition, that all cash collected would then be used to purchase gift cards from each of our amazing grocery stores and given to the Food Bank for purchases of as needed stores. Great thanks go out to the amazing Volunteers from the three Knight’s Councils in Chatham, Parishioners from the Salvation Army Church and Blessed Sacrament Parish, Catholic Women’s League from Blessed Sacrament, Community Living Chatham, Students from UCC, and from our very special Corporate Partners CONAGRA FOODS, Dresden. Nearly 60 Volunteers in total showed up to help out at this great Outreach! Blessing to all that were able to donate, and purchase groceries, and to our fabulous Volunteers!!! Look for our Council’s next MEGASIZED FOOD DRIVE is schedule once again for the end of September 2026, watch for more information this summer to become involved in this terrific outreach, friends!!!🙏🏻💛🪽
