In North Bay, a powerful and inclusive space is helping young people feel seen, supported, and connected. OUTLoud North Bay exists to create a safer, more vibrant, and more connected community for 2SLGBTQ+ youth across the region. Their mission is to offer a space where young people can show up exactly as they are, feel seen, and know they belong. They believe every youth deserves a place where their identity is celebrated, their voice matters, and their well-being is supported. Through inclusive programming, strong peer connections, and meaningful relationships with supportive adults and allies, OUTLoud works to reduce isolation and build community. At its core, OUTLoud North Bay is more than a program — it’s a community hub, a support network, and a catalyst for positive change, guided by compassion, empowerment, and authenticity. 💛 Why It Began OUTLoud North Bay was inspired by the lived experience of its founder, Seth Compton. Through his own journey of self-discovery and transition, Seth experienced both the challenges and the importance of having a supportive environment. While he had the support of his family, he recognized that many 2SLGBTQ+ youth do not have access to the same acceptance or sense of belonging. Seeing the isolation, silence, and lack of safe spaces for queer and trans youth, OUTLoud North Bay was created from a commitment to ensuring that no young person would have to navigate their identity alone. 🧡 Who They Serve & Their Impact OUTLoud North Bay serves marginalized and at-risk 2SLGBTQ+ youth between the ages of 10 and 18. Many of the youth they support are navigating complex challenges, including family rejection, stigma, and social isolation. OUTLoud provides a safe, affirming space where young people can connect, build confidence, and simply be themselves. In recent years, they have also seen a meaningful increase in neuroqueer youth — individuals who are both neurodivergent and part of the 2SLGBTQ+ community — highlighting the importance of inclusive, intersectional support. Through drop-ins, peer support, mentorship, workshops, and community events, OUTLoud helps youth develop resilience, improve mental well-being, and build a strong sense of belonging. 🚨 Current Initiatives & Urgent Needs OUTLoud North Bay is actively expanding its programs to meet growing demand.
